Description
The USS Missouri is a warship of the 'Iowa' class, that served the Navy over three wars - WW2, Korea, and the gulf war. Its mighty arsenal of 16-inch-guns, antiaircraft guns, and rocket launchers made 'The Mighty Mo' one of the most enormous ships that were used in the modern warfare. After supporting the third Pacific Fleet in attacks on Tokyo, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa, their decks served as a viewing platform of Japan's unconditional surrender to the allied forces on 2. September 1945, at the end of the Second World War. The ship was shut down in 1992 and lives on as a 887 ft long legend of steel - a memorial and museum in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
