The BB firing function and the infrared combat system are combined in the two HengLong versions.

The two painted camouflage versions of the Pro Edition (Camouflage IR and Camouflage BB) additionally have cannon smoke when firing that can be switched on and off, and come in a Torro wooden box for transport and storage.

History: The Panther Ausf. G
The last version of the Panther built in large numbers
The Panther was created as the German answer to the Soviet T-34, whose appearance in 1941 caught the German anti-tank defence off guard. Developed from 1942 and built in series from 1943, the Panzerkampfwagen V (Sd.Kfz. 171) carried the long 7.5 cm KwK 42 L/70 — a gun with high penetrating power. By the end of the war, around 6,000 Panthers had been built in several versions.
The Ausf. G was the last version of this medium tank produced in large numbers: from March 1944 to April 1945, 2,953 vehicles left the assembly line — more than any other Panther version. With it, the Panther was regarded as a pioneer of the modern main battle tank.

What is the difference between BB, IR and BB+IR on the Panther G?
The Torro BB versions fire 6 mm plastic pellets up to 25 metres. The Torro IR versions fight their battles with an invisible infrared beam — against vehicles of the same series. Both Torro IR models of the Panther G additionally have barrel recoil and muzzle flash. The two HengLong models combine BB and IR in one vehicle. Matching 6 mm ammunition is also available biodegradable — in white and green.
What are the advantages of the Torro Pro Edition?
Tracks, drive and idler wheels, road wheels, lower hull and combat turret are made of metal, plus the 4-in-1 metal gearbox and a turret that rotates a full 360°. The camouflage versions are painted by airbrush — or you choose the unpainted version as a basis for your own finish. The IR versions additionally bring barrel recoil and muzzle flash; charging is handled via the charger at 7.2 V, 400 mA to German standard.
What are the advantages of the HengLong BB+IR edition?
Both combat systems in one model (BB and IR), Ready to Run with battery and USB charging cable. Plus machine-gun sound that can be switched via the transmitter, and a smoke unit. The turret rotates 320° (160° per side). The version with the addition 'metal tracks' runs on metal tracks with a metal gearbox, the standard version on plastic.
When are the metal tracks worth it?
Metal tracks add noticeably more weight to the hull — the model sits more firmly on the ground and the driving behaviour feels considerably more realistic. They are also much more robust than plastic tracks and do not break even under intensive use. On the Torro Pro Edition the metal running gear is fitted as standard; on HengLong on the version with the addition 'metal tracks'.
Does the Panther G have a smoke function?
Yes — all Panther G models produce driving/exhaust smoke from the exhaust pipes, on the Torro Pro Edition via the smoke generator, on HengLong via the smoke unit, each with smoke fluid. Additional cannon smoke when firing is featured on the two painted camouflage versions of the Pro Edition (Camouflage IR and Camouflage BB) — further models with this effect are listed in the overview BB with cannon smoke.
How long does the Panther G run on one battery charge?
That depends on the model, the battery and the functions used — smoke and the firing function draw more energy. Running and charging times can be calculated with the battery calculator for RC tanks.
