Camouflage or unpainted — which Panther F suits you?
All five Panther F come from the Torro Pro Edition — with metal running gear, a 4-in-1 metal gearbox, a 360° rotating turret and a NiMH battery with charger (7.2 V, 400 mA, German standard). The difference lies in the finish and the combat system:

BB or IR for the Panther F?
With the Panther F you deliberately choose one system: on the IR models the infrared emitter and muzzle flash sit in the barrel, on the BB models the firing unit.
Hits without a projectile
The Torro IR versions fight their battles with an invisible infrared beam — against vehicles of the same series. Every shot is marked by barrel recoil and muzzle flash.
6 mm firing function
The Torro BB versions fire 6 mm plastic pellets up to 25 metres — matching ammunition is also available biodegradable.

The three painted camouflage versions come in a Torro wooden crate for transport and storage; of these, only the “camouflage IR with smoke” model has the switchable cannon smoke when firing.

History: the Panther Ausf. F
The planned next Panther stage — tested, but never mass-produced.
The Panther was created as the German answer to the Soviet T-34 and entered series production in early 1943. By the end of the war, around 6,000 Panzerkampfwagen V (Sd.Kfz. 171) had been built in the D, A and G variants — all with the long 7.5 cm KwK 42 L/70.
The Ausf. F was to be the next development stage. Its defining feature was the newly developed Schmalturm — a narrower turret with an optical rangefinder considered revolutionary for its time. It was tested from August 1944 on an Ausf. G chassis; the first finished Panther F were scheduled for June 1945. It never came to that — by the end of the war only a few Schmalturm turrets for testing and a handful of Panther F hulls had been built, and series production never got under way.

What is the difference between BB and IR on the Panther F?
The Torro BB versions fire 6 mm plastic pellets up to 25 metres. The Torro IR versions fight their battles with an invisible infrared beam — against vehicles of the same series. The three IR models of the Panther F additionally have barrel recoil and muzzle flash, the two BB models do not. Matching 6 mm ammunition is also available biodegradable — in white and green.
What sets the Torro Pro Edition apart on the Panther F?
All Panther F are Pro models: tracks, drive sprockets, idler and road wheels, lower hull and turret are made of metal, plus the 4-in-1 metal gearbox and a 360° rotating turret. Charging is via the supplied NiMH battery and the charger with 7.2 V, 400 mA to German standard. The IR models additionally feature barrel recoil and muzzle flash; on two of them a servo raises and lowers the gun.
Camouflage or unpainted — which should I choose?
The painted camouflage versions are fully airbrush-painted and ready to run; they come in a Torro wooden crate for transport and storage. The unpainted models are the raw base for your own finish — ideal if you want to do the paintwork, weathering and markings yourself. In running gear, gearbox and turret they are identical.
What does “IR Servo” mean on the Panther F?
On the “camouflage IR Servo” model a servo raises and lowers the gun, along with barrel recoil and muzzle flash. The “camouflage IR with smoke” model also has this servo function. The barrel recoil pulls the gun barrel back when fired, the muzzle flash simulates the muzzle fire.
Does the Panther F have a smoke function?
Yes — all Panther F produce driving/exhaust smoke from the exhaust pipes, via the smoke generator with smoke fluid. Additional, switchable cannon smoke when firing is only on the “camouflage IR with smoke” model. Further models with this effect are shown in the overview BB with cannon smoke.
How long does the Panther F run on one battery charge?
That depends on the model, battery and functions used — smoke and firing function need more energy. Running and charging times can be calculated with the battery calculator for RC tanks.
